Kasey Kahne's Drive to Care

NASCAR racer, Kasey Kahne, began the fundraiser by donating the first $50,000 toward a Care Mobile. The Care Mobile is a pediatric clinic that delivers free medical and dental care mostly to uninsured children ages 1-18. Staffs are made up of some of these professionals: pediatricians, pediatric nurses, dental hygienists, dentists, program managers, social workers and other pediatric specialists.

Each Care Mobile costs $500,000, so all donations are greatly appreciated.

What is the Ronald McDonald House?

Ronald McDonald House Charities fund Ronald McDonald Houses all over the world. The purpose of the Ronald McDonald Houses is to provide a place for parents of sick children in nearby hospitals to stay at night for little or no cost. The first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1974. Former Philadelphia Eagles player, Fred Hill, and his wife opened the house after staying in hospital rooms while their daughter received treatment for leukemia. They wanted to create a home away from home for families whose children were receiving long-term treatment far from home. Currently there are more than 250 houses in 30 countries.

RMHC is a non-profit organization that aims to create, developing and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. Guiding this mission are the following core values:
• Focusing on the critical needs of children.
• Celebrating the diversity of the programs we offer and the staff, volunteers and donors who make them possible.
• Staying true to our heritage of 35 years of responsible stewardship.
• Operating with accountability and transparency.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) has improved the health and well being of nearly 4 million children worldwide every year. Its biggest corporate donor is the McDonald’s restaurant chain. RMHC chapters are found in 52 countries worldwide.
